September 23, 2002 - Vietnam Veteran War Dog Handler's, Ron Aiello and John Burnam, The U. S. War Dogs Association receive an Award presented by: Mr. and Mrs Donald F. Smith,   Dean of Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine at the Pierre Hotel in New York  City.

The above letter is in response to a letter I wrote on July 5, 2000 to then Secretary of Defence William S. Cohen in regards to establishing a War Dog Memorial and in establishing a War Dog Stamp. I also letter copied the following: Gen. Henry R Shelton, USA. Gen. Richard B. Myers, USAF. Gen. Eric K. Shinseki, USA. Admiral Jay L. Johnson, USN. Gen. Michael E. Ryan, USAF. and Gen. James L. Jones, USMC.

On July 7, 2000 I received the above letter from then General Henry R. Shelton, Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, with a personal hand written note.

I felt that this letter should be shared with everyone.

I should also note: I did not received a reply from Secretary of Defence William S. Cohen, nor any of the other Joint Chiefs that I had copied with my letter.
